We are the winners of “Retailer of the Year 2011” and the “Tenant of the Year 2011” award by Wadworth Brewery.
 

Unbelievable!!!!! I was on cloud 9 when they twice called out our name at this year’s award ceremony. People have asked how did you win these awards and my answer is due to hard work, commitment, having a fantastic team of staff, great locals and the enthusiasm for never settling for average. Pub life is hard work but it’s great to be recognised for doing the job you love.

Thanks to everyone for your continuing support, we couldn’t of done it without you.

Our new winter menu is here, so please check out the Pub food section....also don't forget we have some delicious Special dishes as well...so there should be something for everyone...but....if there isn't then just ask and we'll see what we can do.

Our new “Vintage Menu” has arrived. This menu has been designed for our more mature patrons with smaller appetites. It is served from Tuesday to Friday 12.30pm till 2.30pm and is priced at one course £5.95, two course £7.95 three course £9.95. See our Pub Food section for more details.

Now Summer appears to be here we have decided to bring out our Summer menu. We have kept the traditional pub classics but also added some more exciting options - check out the Food page and see what you think

New Spring Menu is here

Our new Spring Menu went live today - we have changed the format slightly and now offer a seperate lunch and evening menu and have taken into account the change in season. So you will find a lot more lighter dishes than the Winter menu. We hope you will enjoy it and would welcome any comments you may have.

Music, music everywhere.

We’ve started this year off with a musical bang. We’ve had some great acts already in the form of “Ain’t Misbehavin”, Babajack, and The Blues Anoraks and now we’re introducing some Sunday sessions as well, which have been a huge success thanks to the boys of “Pholk Law” the Irish folk group who really know how to play and entertain the crowd the way it should be on a Sunday. We’ve also had a pianist in on a Sunday who again has been entertaining customers during the lunchtime.

 

The beer festival preparations are now taking shape and “YewFest” will soon be advertised. It will be held in a marquee in our beer garden on Friday 29th April, Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May. There will live bands each day, a BBQ and a large selection of real ales. This is going to be a great event and hopefully you’ll all be able to make it.

What a month!

Well the Christmas period is coming to a close but what a great month we have had - there has been some cracking nights with everyone having a great time. A big thank you goes to Greg and Jacko for hosting the Christmas Quiz - and at the same time raising money towards Spinal Research to fight paralysis. Just for those of you that know any money raised from the “balance the coin on the floating lemon” is currently going to this charity so please feel free to have a go next time you’re in.

 

Also another big thank you to everyone who turned up for the “Masked Party” on New Year’s Eve, your masks looked brilliant – I’m already starting to think what theme we can go for next year!!
